It's Always Sunny in Monaco

So after only 2 days back in Montpellier some friends and I took a short trip to Nice and Monaco just for Friday and Saturday and I have to say that it is officially a tie for my favorite city in Europe between Nice and London and that is saying a lot since it was cold and raining in Nice I can't imagine how amazing Nice and the beaches are in the summer. We were a little apprehensive about our trip because the G-20 summit was in Cannes this weekend which is right next to Nice and we heard there were a lot of protesters but we actually didn't encounter any which was kind of a relief. After our 4 hour train ride to Nice we hit the city full force knowing we didn't have too much time there. We ate lunch and then walked along the beach for awhile. The beach was so beautiful I have never seen such blue water in my entire life and even though it was raining pretty much the whole time it was still amazing. Then we walked up onto this castle right by the beach and took pictures around sunset of the whole city it could not have been more perfect. That night we went out to find some clubs because apparently Nice is like the party capital of France but there isn't too much going on when it is not summer but we found one bar that was pretty cool!

The next day we woke up early and went to this beautiful flower market called Cours Saleya. They had tons of stalls selling local flowers, fruits, vegetables, and the best part was the fresh jam and olives which we got to sample. I personally got this amazing fresh pesto and some violet jam (made from the flowers) which is a specialty in Nice, and it tastes delicious my friend got the rose petal jam also amazing! After that we sat down and enjoyed some french pastries and past by this beautiful Russian church which is a rarity in France and different from the other millions of old churches we have seen in France.

After that we took a 15 minute train ride to Monaco to check out some rich people. We went to the Monte Carlo Casino, however you aren't allowed in unless you are dressed up so we couldn't go in but I have never seen such a concentration of expensiver cars in my entire life. After the casino we walked around the country a bit seeing all the rich people and expensive stores and then the best part is we found this fair in the center of Monaco which was basically like a county fair in America. They had rides and carnival games and food. I got some delicious chocolate covered churros. My friend Gabby got a french hot dog which I had a bite of and is 10x more amazing than in America because it is in a baguette and they have amazing sauces.
Yes this is the train station in Monaco, it is in a mountain
